OCM CoE Purpose and Mission
The OCM Center of Excellence (OCM-CoE) represents a strategic organizational change management structure designed to provide best practices, innovation, support, and resources to ensure that change initiatives are implemented effectively, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
The primary purpose of establishing an OCM CoE is to provide a structured change approach and leadership to support change initiatives across the University, maintain consistency and the use of shared language, and contribute to the successful implementation of the University’s strategic goals.
The mission of the OCM CoE is to build awareness and understanding of change management methodology and enable and support individuals to develop their own change management capabilities.
OCM CoE Services and Activities
The following list of activities and services collectively provides our project practitioners and project stakeholders with a flexible, tiered service model:

- Training
- Performance Support Materials
- Open Office Hours
- Change Champion Networking and Communications
- Research and Development into industry trends and best practices
- Resource and Knowledge Management such as templates, how-to guides, micro-learnings
- Cross CoE collaboration and sharing
Engaging the OCM CoE
Inclusion and membership in OCM CoE and is open to all WashU IT and IT@WashU team members. Participation is encouraged by all related roles including Communications Specialists, Training and Development Specialists, Instructional Designers, Training Specialists, Technical Writers, Accessibility Specialists, Change Management Specialists, and any other related roles, or other interested team members.
Continuous improvement suggestions may be shared at associated community of practice meetings, OCM Collaboration Meetings, or submitted to ppmo@wustl.edu.
Requests for allocated resources or an assigned CoE consulting SME may be submitted via ServiceNow and triaged based on complexity, risk, skills requirements, and capacity.
