Employees at Washington University in St. Louis who use Adobe software recently participated in the annual Adobe licensing survey, an effort led by the Software Asset Management (SAM) team within WashU IT End User Experience (EUX). The survey helps the university align software licensing with employees’ business needs while identifying opportunities to optimize software investments.
Before renewing Adobe licenses, the SAM team reviewed subscriptions to identify redundant or underused licenses and evaluated licensing options for employees who use multiple Adobe Creative Cloud applications. The review helped ensure licenses reflect actual software usage while maintaining access to the tools employees rely on.
The review also highlighted opportunities to consider software alternatives based on specific business needs. For employees whose primary requirement is PDF editing, alternatives such as Nitro PDF may provide the necessary functionality at a lower cost than Adobe Acrobat.
Software Asset Management provides guidance on software licensing and supports the university’s efforts to manage software assets effectively. The service helps departments understand licensing requirements and make informed decisions that align with university standards and licensing obligations.
Employees with questions about software licensing, PDF editing solutions, or other related topics are encouraged to contact the Software Asset Management team for guidance.
