WashU Key accounts will be disabled automatically to improve security and identity management, ensuring compliance with the Office of Information Security standards. Students

  • Students who do not become alumni will have their WashU Key account disabled two years after becoming inactive.

Faculty & Staff

  • WashU Key accounts for faculty and staff are disabled on their last working day.
  • Exceptions:
    • Terminated faculty with an approved Academic Services Access role or who are emeritus, will maintain an active WashU Key account.
    • Retirees will maintain an active WashU Key account.
  • Contingent workers have their WashU Key disabled on their last working day.

Alumni

  • Alumni will maintain an active WashU Key account.

Additional Affiliations

  • Additional affiliations, guests, and volunteers, will have their WashU Key account disabled on their final day of affiliation.
  • Trustees will receive a 60-day grace period where their WashU Key remains enabled following their final day of affiliation.
