As part of WashU IT’s evolving AI strategy, the Optimization Initiative has been renamed Administrative AI.
This name better reflects the purpose of partnering with administrative units across the university to identify opportunities where artificial intelligence can simplify work, improve business processes, enhance services and increase organizational effectiveness.
While the name has changed, the goal of the ongoing initiative remains the same: to partner with university departments to identify opportunities where artificial intelligence can streamline administrative work, improve business processes, and help teams realize value from enterprise AI capabilities.
Administrative AI focuses on helping departments:
- Identify opportunities to use AI in administrative processes.
- Support implementation of enterprise AI capabilities.
- Guide organizational change and user adoption.
- Improve business processes and service delivery.
- Promote continuous improvement as AI capabilities evolve.
How Administrative AI fits into WashU’s AI strategy
Within WashU IT, the Administrative AI initiative is responsible for partnering with administrative organizations to ensure enterprise AI capabilities are successfully implemented, adopted, and incorporated into daily operations. This work complements AI technology enablement, which delivers the underlying enterprise AI platforms, governance, security, and technical services.
What this means
For those who have previously worked with or referenced the Optimization Initiative, begin using the name Administrative AI in documentation, communications, presentations and conversations.
Only the name has changed. Existing partnerships, objectives and services remain the same.
